Change the color of a single Calendar event

I would like to change the color a single event WITHOUT having create new calendar on a Mac and move that event to it. Any way to do this?

Change the color of a single Calendar event

Seems you can easily change the color, but only to the color of an existing calendar.

(Am assuming you have more than one existing calendar)

To do that: ✽ double-click the event to open it in a small window

✽ click on the tiny up down (V) symbols at top right / beside small square of existing color

✽ choose the color of another existing calendar from the drop down list that opens

✽ click the small x at top left to close the small window

Thank you for responding to my reply.

Yes, calendars from different suppliers are not all the same.

With Apple's inbuilt calendar: If you only have one calendar you will not have a choice of colours. This is because the colour indicates which calendar the event belongs to.

If you have several calendars, you can select all of them so they all display, or choose which ones you want to display, & easily turn any of them on or off.

My own way of making an event stand out, is to double-click on the event, and change it to an "all-day" event. This is so the colour of it's calendar is displayed.

If that's not appropriate, I will add an "alert" so that will pop up as a reminder at the time I set.

There is a useful Calendar User Guide for Mac - Apple Support online.

Thanks but I don't want to create another calendar just to change the color of a couple of events during the course of a week. I'm looking to change just one event that I'd like to highlight so it looks different to give it more attention.

This is a feature in Google Cal that's been there for many years. It's very helpful.

So it seems like this is something Apple Calendar does not allow. :(
