It could be the bug that randomly silences notifications on some devices if the accounts they come from are also on other devices on the same network, whether or not those devices notify. Email only randomly notifies on my Mac if my iPhone or iPad is also turned on and in the room, even if they don't notify. If I'm expecting an email or message I have to check periodically on one of my devices or turn them all off except one if I want to be sure to be notified. It's been a bug for me for a couple of OS's now. I first reported it ages ago, but it's not fixed yet.

All has worked fine until IOS 18. No other Apple items . Just IPhone . Forums are full of same problem .

The only impact iOS 18.1 has had on my notifications is that I enabled the "Intelligent Breakthrough & Silencing in one of my Focuses. That focus also has "Smart Activation" enabled. I'm doing this mostly as an experiment. However, it does silence notifications I did not explicitly silence.

I'm having this problem on both iPhone 14 and iPad 7. It started with iOS/iPadOS 18 (I think 18.0.1), currently I'm on 18.1.1. Incoming emails trigger the banner notification and badge on the Mail icon but no notification sound. Notification banners, sounds and badges are all enabled. I've tried setting notification sounds off and on again in Mail to no effect.
