What should the speedtests be for a apple tv?

I have internet speed of nearly 1 GIG hardwired into the apple tv device but when a speed test is executed the upload and download speeds are only about 95MBS. What speeds should we expect through a apple tv?

Apple TV 4K, tvOS 18

You lost me a little bit on that one. If I run a speed test on the Cat7 ethernet cable that connects directly to the AppleTV I am getting nearly 1 GIG speeds. Once I unplug from the laptop and then plug the cable into the Apple TV when I run a speed test of the Apple TV it is only 95 MBS up and download. There is only the one RJ45 connection port to plug into on Apple TV. Is the port configurable?
Thanks

Very odd, that it works when connected to a different device, but not with the Apple TV.

Have you tried to restart the Apple TV? Unplug it from power, wait 10 seconds and plug it in again.

Also, probably a dumb question, but are you sure this is a 4K Apple TV?

The Apple TV HD model for example only has a 100Mbps ethernet port.

What is the model number in Settings ➜ General ➜ About ➜ Model?

What kind of ethernet cable are you using? What is it plugged into on the router?

Looks to me, like you are not using a gigabit router, or router port on the router (some routers may have dedicated ports for gigabit), or a rated cable.

Though even 4K movies really don't need anywhere near 95mbps the Apple TV has a gigabit ethernet connector, which should be getting higher speeds than that.

Since you are only getting 95, it points to something in the connection chain not being gigabit capable.
