It looks like this has been asked before, but if there's a solution, I'd like to hear it. I just bought a new iPad and cannot sign in to the Facebook app. I have tried everything absent a factory reset, which I will not do.

After signing-in to Facebook Messenger, many report that their [previously rejected] credentials are accepted by the Facebook App.
