new music on iPhone does not appear when syncing to Mac

I purchased an album by The Cure, The Head on the Door, via Apple iTunes a few days ago on my iPhone 12 mini, updated to iOS 18.1.1. when I sync it to my Mac Mini, the new album does not show up in my Apple Music on my computer.

I tried to transfer the album via AirPlay, but all that happened was Apple Music opened with the album, but when I clicked +Add, it would not do anything.

When I search my Apple Music library on my Mac Mini, it does not show up.

When I sync and search for specific albums, The Head on the Door is not there. When I look at the specific songs on the iPhone by opening Apple Music and clicking on the phone icon and seeing the full list of all the songs and albums available on my phone, the album is not there.

What's going on?

Thanks,

Unless you have a sub to Apple Music, syncing is from Mac to iPhone only: Sync files from your Mac to iPhone, iPad or iPod touch – Apple Support (AU)

You can download it directly to your Mac from the iTunes Store.
