Making erroneous phone calls—can you change the dial button?

I dial people by mistake and would like to hang up without them realizing I have called them. Can you change the red button or put something to give me more time to cancel the call?

Thank you

Hi Nottall,

Unfortunately, there’s no way to change the design of the call interface or the red "End Call" button on iPhones. However, there are a few tips and settings you can use to avoid accidental calls or quickly cancel them:

1. **Use Airplane Mode**: If you realize you’ve made an accidental call, quickly swipe down from the top-right corner (on iPhones with Face ID) or swipe up (on iPhones with a Home button) to open the Control Center and turn on **Airplane Mode**. This will disconnect the call before it rings on the other end.

2. **Enable Silence Unknown Callers**: If you’re frequently making accidental calls, you might want to enable **Silence Unknown Callers** in your settings. Go to **Settings > Phone > Silence Unknown Callers**. While this won’t stop accidental calls, it minimizes their impact if the recipient isn’t in your contacts.

3. **Third-Party Apps**: Some third-party apps may offer features like a call confirmation pop-up before dialing, though these won’t integrate into the default Phone app.

4. **Provide Feedback to Apple**: If you’d like to request a feature like a delay or confirmation before dialing, you can submit feedback to Apple. Visit the [Apple Feedback page](https://www.apple.com/feedback) and suggest this enhancement.

I hope these tips help reduce accidental calls in the future!

Best regards,

DT
