iphone 12 stopped charging after iOS 18.1.1 update

Still an issue for me! I have one charger that always works and I need to make sure its plugged into a wall plug as portable battery packs still don't work. Its so frustrating

The iPhone 16 requires a 30 watt charger for optimum fast charging. Older models require at least 20 watts. If you’re using an older Apple charger it can take overnight for a full charge.

Sometimes my iPhone 12 mini failed to connect properly to its MagSafe charging pad. In those cases, powering the phone completely off, then back on, cleared the glitch.

This happened on versions of iOS prior to iOS 18, and as far as I know, the phone did not repeatedly cycle between connecting and not connecting - it just failed to connect when expected, and then the next morning, I discovered it had a very low charge instead of the expected 100% one.

But you might try power-cycling your phone when this happens to see if by chance it helps.

Hey - any updates on what happened with this for you?

I travelled from the UK to Mexico today, only to spend 5 hours extra in the airport because my phone wouldn’t turn on to do things I needed like find my air bnb, transfer money, all sorts of stuff. It’s actually enraged me. I’m surprised to see so many others reporting the same though

I did too and it resolved some of it but even with an authentic apple charger it still charges slow. The least I have use of my device which connects to my continuous glucose monitor. I hear there another update coming and I’m terrified to make things worse.

Thank you for your reply. The assumption it's a user error, a cable, or phone port issue is frustrating — but I'm glad to see it is not just me. I hope Apple fixes this in the next update

anyone have an update on this? My SO 12 is no longer charging with any usb c /apple fast charger only with cheap 3rd party charger all of a sudden. iPhone not even updated to IOS 18
