Apps don’t work after updating to iOS 18.1.1

I updated my iOS to 18.1.1 on my iPhone pro max 16 last night and this morning I’d say about 80% of my apps refuse to open. Reinstalling doesn’t seem to solve the issue. Causing me major issues as I can’t open my banking apps to verify transactions. Can anyone tell me how to roll back my iOS update or if there is a fix?

I found a way to open the apps. It was still a big pain.... I went into the App Store app. I then clicked on my profile at the top of the app. I updated any apps that needed updating, and then opened every app one by one from the App Store app. I had to find and re-enter some of my passwords, but I believe everything is working now. The biggest headache was getting my password manager app working to allow me to get to the passwords.

Hi , sorry to jump on but I’m having the same trouble since stupidly updating on Saturday night! Spent most of Sunday trying to sort this out including contacting support and senior support phoning me. There only answer was to go back to my last back up through a computer. I don’t have a computer that I can use. No Apple stores near to me. Tried all of their suggestions, forcing reboot, deleted one app and tried to reinstall but just get the wheel of doom!

Should I try deleting all apps, then force a reboot and try again? I’ve been so peeved off that I’ve ordered a new iPad however the one that has been left pretty much unusable by the update was perfectly ok prior to the update.


I’m a lot less HappyCatHertfordshire than I was before the update, broken iPad and bank balance.


Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just updated to 18.1.1. The vast majority of my apps start to open, then the icon disappears and does not start. Don't have a VPN, did force reboot several times. Very upset with Apple that they push out this updates, and then we must uninstall and reinstall all of our apps. REDICULOUS!!! Haven't seen any solutions from Apple, and the posts I read do not help.

You can believe that if you choose, but if you think Apple is going to fix anything that changed on your Garmin watch, they can't and they won't. Apple doesn't own the Garmin App, nor did they sell you a Garmin Watch. They have literally nothing to do with Garmin. If something changed on your Garmin Watch, it's up to Garmin to address.

Yeah same here. My iPhone has turned with this new update. I’m having issues with connecting to wifi. My iPad Pro and Mac is fine! My iPhone is defaulting to cellular only and I have to turn cellular off to make my iPhone use wifi. Anyone else having this issue? And no my wifi is fine, as I said IPad and MacBook connect and use it immediately.

I updated my IPhone 12 Pro Max on 11/24/24 I believe. I have it on auto update and think that is the correct date. The first issue noticed is the Face ID stopped working and will not allow me to reset. I then noticed the camera sometimes works and sometimes shows me just a blank screen happens approx 50% of the time. Tonight I turned on the light to make my way in the dark outside and it turned off after approx 30 seconds. The light no longer works. This is a phone that has been working flawlessly for a few years now. I am now in the process of wiping the phone and seeing if restoring from the cloud will fix it. Have heard about some of the 18.1.1 update issues, but nothing to this extent. Been an iPhone owner since the beginning. This is stupidly ridiculous.
