Apps don’t work after updating to iOS 18.1.1

I updated my iOS to 18.1.1 on my iPhone pro max 16 last night and this morning I’d say about 80% of my apps refuse to open. Reinstalling doesn’t seem to solve the issue. Causing me major issues as I can’t open my banking apps to verify transactions. Can anyone tell me how to roll back my iOS update or if there is a fix?

I found a way to open the apps. It was still a big pain.... I went into the App Store app. I then clicked on my profile at the top of the app. I updated any apps that needed updating, and then opened every app one by one from the App Store app. I had to find and re-enter some of my passwords, but I believe everything is working now. The biggest headache was getting my password manager app working to allow me to get to the passwords.

Most apps on my iPad seem to work, but I noticed that in Safari, I cannot checkout when I choose PayPal. There is no way to continue the checkout process, so it is stopping the PayPal process due to some new setting that is in place, but I don’t know what it is (blocking pop ups? Stopping some other process that I need to uncheck?)

You may wish that as much as you want. The reality, though, is that everything changes. Consumer technology changes faster than a lot of things.

My photos that I took time to put into albums and were easily found is a mess.

My school app doesnt recognize my password.

That's a problem with your school app. Contact whoever is the administrator at your school.

I cant easily find my search engine and google has taken over my phone!

Search engines are accessed through a browser. Are you saying you can't access Safari? Which search engine are you using? Google? Yahoo? Bing? Something else?

Google could only have taken over your phone if you downloaded Google apps. If you don't want them on your phone, delete them.

Sketchbook doesn’t work right since the update. It’s lagging and freezes up. I’ve already deleted the app then reinstalled it…..same problem.

Apple doesn't own the Sketchbook app. Contact the app developer to see what they plan to do to make the app work properly on iOS 18.1.1. Apple can't do anything with someone else's app at all.

message app - it worked early this morning. After 11 am it would not let me send a text. I notice that I had not received any text since 11 am. I would open the app and it would freeze. It would not let me scroll to look at all text. After doing what was suggested by the help chat on AT&T app - the app now will not pull up anything. It is completely blank. I spent a lot of time with an agent/specialist in the chat. I answered all his questions. He couldn’t figure it out. He didn’t return the disconnected call after saying he would. Very frustrating. I can’t ever go into the settings and click on message. It will freeze everything.

My banking app (TheCitizensBankofPhila) doesn’t work. It started about a month ago and when you click on it, it try’s to open and goes back to main screen (Home Screen where apps are). So they told me to delete it and redownload, I did. Same thing keeps happening. They told me contact my carrier (AT&T) but I didn’t. Can’t understand their foreign accents.

When I awoke this morning, the Fitbit Luxe would not synch with my iPhone 15 Pro. I tried turning the iPhone off and on, turning Bluetooth notifications off and on, turning Bluetooth off and on, unpairing and repairing Bluetooth, all to no avail. I finally deleted the Fitbit app and reinstalled it and that did the trick. Wasted about an hour of my time.

This update has been a nightmare- several basic features no longer work

What "basic features" no longer work? Unless you explain what problems you're having, it will be hard for anyone to help you. The vast majority of people who update to iOS 18.1.1 are not having major issues. If you are, it is likely that there's something else going on. If you explain what's happening to you without assuming the cause, someone may be able to help you through it.
