Unsolicited Apple Cash Deposit

A few days ago I received an iMessage from an unknown number stating they mistakenly sent $10 to my Apple Cash and the text included a link to return the money to the sender. I checked my account and there was a ‘completed’ transaction of $10. How could a deposit go into my Apple Cash without my acceptance? Now I’m getting texts and calls from two different numbers demanding I return the $10. What should I do?

iPhone 15, iOS 17

Don’t touch the money. Immediately contact an Apple Cash Specialist at Green Dot Bank. Failure to do so, could result in your account being locked and permanently closed for being involved in fraud or stolen funds.

Apple Cash is a service that’s administered by Green Dot Bank. Contact an Apple Cash Specialist at Green Dot Bank by calling (877)-233-8552 or by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE
