Checking for Trojan virus on iPhone after suspicious link

I pressed on a link that was checking my browser then it says that Trojan virus was on my phone and I quickly closed it. I’m not sure if it was fake. Is there a way to double check to see if there is a virus? My phone is not overheating, no suspicious apps, I also cleared Safari browsing history data. How long does it take to notice a virus?

It's a scam.

A virus is a piece of malware that operates by spreading itself to other programs or scripts, and turning them into programs that will further spread the virus – in much the same way that a cold virus attacks the cells of your body. iPhones are extremely locked-down and most apps are prevented from doing the sorts of things required to either infect other apps with viruses, or to do virus scans and disinfect (non-existent) viruses from the phone.

These scams usually are intended:

  • To get you to buy some app that will do nothing for you. (The app may have been placed in the App Store by the same people presenting the scam.)
  • To get you to contact the criminals who presented directly, for "help." If you call the phone number, etc., the only "help" you will get is help in being ripped off by the "friendly" "tech support" people.
