Can't backup my new 16 Pro onto my 2015 27" Mac

I have a 2015 27" Mac with a 2TB hard disk running Monterey 12.7.6 and I mainly use it now to back up my phones and iPads. I have just purchased a 16 Pro and when I connect it to the iMac it goes through the usual process of connection and syncing but after 1 hour it has synced only about 10%. I have just had to cancel the sync and the following message appeared:- "Some items, including “Run”, were not copied to the iPhone “iPhone” because you are not authorised for them on this Mac."

Can you tell me if I am able to overcome this problem as I don't want to use my MacBook Air as it will take up too much disk space.

iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 18

Your question is a little unclear to me. As I understand it you want to back up an iPhone to a Mac, but synchronization fails because you are not authorized to copy certain items.

To authorize a Mac for Apple Account purchases follow these instructions: Authorize or deauthorize your computer for Apple Account purchases - Apple Support.

Authorization is unrelated to any storage capacity limitations.
