SAME problem different month! (video freezes)

Why has this not been fixed? I am experiencing the EXACT same problem as "dastoelk" described on Jul 18:

"I will do a random edit (ANY kind of edit,) and my FCP app will "freeze," but it an odd way. I can play the timeline, and I hear the audio, but the video will not advance... the image is "stuck." My only solution is to FORCE quit the app."

This has happened to me 4 times today. Right now I am getting the turning beach ball of death trying to quit Final Cut.

I am running Final Cut Pro 11.0 on a Mac Studio 2023 with the Apple M2 Ultra chip.

I have 192 GB Memory

And Sequoia 15.1.1 installed (happened in the older OS also)

Did I really spend all that money to get a glitchy editing software? Maybe time to swith to Premiere Pro...just kidding. Please fix this!!

Paste a report from https://etrecheck.com using the "Additional text" button below in your reply. This will help to potentially figure out what's going on with your Mac. Common culprits are: migrating everything from an Intel Mac, installing CleanMyMac, running antivirus software continuously, and using Chrome with its background updating software.

As Ian says, the easiest first trouble-shooting step is to delete FCP Settings. Hold option and command while launching FCP and choose Delete. It will open the default Untitled library. Reset your preferences the way you like (disable background rendering, etc.) and see if the issue has been resolved.
