Edit button disappeared in Photos app post iOS 18.1.1 update

Last night my iPhone 11 uploaded the newest 18.1.1. Now I no longer have an edit button. I can't rotate a picture, and I can't crop a picture. This is a basic for me.

The attached photo is a screenshot that shows my only options. Yes, my picture is sideways which was supposed to be sent to a museum, but now I have to work with it in my Adobe program on my computer.

While I'm looking to replace this with a new Iphone, if this is option is no longer available, I will probably switch to Samsung or something else that allows BASIC editing on my phone, without having to look for a program.

That new symbol, featuring three sliders, symbolizes the various adjustments that can be made to a photo — including cropping and rotating amongst others. Upon tapping that symbol, the resulting pane is titled "ADJUST".
