After iPhone 12 Pro Max update to IOS 18.1, my 2019 GMC Terrain Denali would reset repeatedly when using Apple Car play. Have tried to reboot the iPhone and power off the infotainment system. Symptoms most noticeable when using Apple Maps for navigation. Anybody else notice trouble with iOS 18.1?

This Worked. 18.2 update took a while to download, but it was worth the wait. Car Play is back to its “normal” quirky-but-usable state. Thanks @Elbonelh. :-)

I have tried resetting network settings on the iPhone and my iPhone and neither has worked. I am going to check for a vehicle software update a bit later today and have the dealership run a diagnostic on the infotainment system Tuesday. I think it won't be an issue with the battery (not enough juice to run things), or an issue with the infotainment unit. Ultimately, I think it'll be solely an Apple issue.
Follow Up … Now the infotainment system (IS) locks up as soon as it senses the phone on the cable. Trying to reset the IS … cannot determine if pressing & holding the power button for 30 seconds does anything. Now looking at a hard reset via the IS Settings menu. i’m seeing more choices on that menu than i expected.
Same here. The system will power up and then when trying to listen to a podcast and use navigation it locks up and will shut down. Also having the issue with Messenger and WhatsApp
