My iPhone 15 no longer looks up plants in Photos

I was using the info button to look up cats , dogs and plants from my photos on my iPhone 15 and now that I have downloaded the latest update I know longer have that option on my photos. I have seen the answers to other people that have questioned this but for some reason when I start to type in the search visual look up it says nothing found.

Photos app in iOS 18.5 apparently not indexing photos, so very limited search results - how to fix? My iPhone 12 Max Pro has 45,000 photos, and I labelled (captioned) many photos with key terms using the iPhone app. Previously, I could type in a genus like "Tillandsia" and locate all my air plant photos. Now that search doesn't find them all. Worse, now if I go back and change a photo's caption, adding the species name, there are even fewer search hits than before. It's as if the app stopped indexing photos. I leave the phone plugged in at night, hoping it will index, but no results. BTW, I don't store my photos on iCloud. Any idea how to force it to re-index?

Have you gone to the Settings,

Settings>Apps>Photos and checked to see if "Enhanced Visual Search" is on?
