Password Expired message | iPhone 13 | iOS 18.1.1.1

My iPhone 13 with iOS 18.1.1 is persistently displaying a Password Expired message without providing an option to dismiss it (see image below). When I researched this online I found a reference to this issue that this likely indicates a serious security issue with my Apple ID password, and that I should immediately try to change my Apple ID password on another trusted device or computer. I did this and no change....I still get the Password Expired message.

The online reference stated that if resetting my password from another device doesn't work, I should contact Apple Support for further assistance.  I thought I would see if anyone else has had this issue and if you were able to resolve the issue.

Do you have an external email account on your iPhone that for work or something similar that uses Microsoft Exchange? If so, then the administrator of that account may have installed a profile that requires you to periodically change your iPhone unlock passcode. Your choices are to remove that profile and the associated email address, or change your passcode.
