Apple Fitness videos won't play on iPhone

Hi, I have a 6s iphone with version 15.8.3 and an apple watch 7 version 8.8.1, which per 'Devices you can use' page says should work. And it did up until the last month of so.

It started with the meditations and now with the workout videos. Message on phone is "Cannot Play Video. The video for this workout is unavailable at this time.' Sometimes the screen is dark but looks like it is loading up, and then the message shows up, sometimes it shows up right away.

I've restarted both, unpaired and paired. Is it storage related? Or? I have 25.7 GB used of 32 GB.

So, today, it occurred to me that maybe having VPN is causing a problem. Not sure this was the root of the problem, but I was able to watch an Apple Fitness video on my iphone after turning the VPN off. So what has changed, since that did not happen previously?
