How to set up AirTag for the first time?

I took the tab from the AirTag. The tag played its jingle. A message on my iPhone said “Update Apple ID”.

I had nothing to update. It is my first time setting up an AirTag. Does not appear to be visible in the MyFind area?

Apple AirTag I am trying to activate my new Apple AirTag. I'm following the directions provided by Apple. I have activated the battery and have held the AitTag next to my iphone. The screen on my iphone says that it has detected the AirTag. It says to press the "connect" button. The instructions say that a list will appear when I press the "connect" button. A list does not appear. The message that appears says "Update Apple ID Settings." I am then directed to the Settings on my iphone. What should I search for in my settings? I don't see any listing for AirTag.

I suggest you start by verifying that there is nothing amiss with your Apple Account/Apple ID.
