Can't macro focus to scan barcodes outside native camera app

When I am using the camera app it changes automatically or I can change manually the macro mode, for when taking pictures very close. This is the case when trying to read barcodes from my bank app in order to make payments. The problem is the macro focus is not being enabled automatically and there is no option to do it when using the camera from the banking app or any other app than the native camera app.

Anyone else with the same problem? I have checked that since iPhone 14 (at least) people are suffering from this issue. Just changed iPhone 11 Pro to 16 Pro and noticed that problem, which does not happen on iPhone 11 Pro, as it automatically (macro) focus when I am trying to take a closer picture.

Is this something Apple is aware of and if yes will they fix it?

The issue is the bank’s app. The banks app has to select lens to use and it needs to select macro setting.

Apple is responsible for their own app and as you’ve noted, it works fine. Your bank is responsible for updating their app. Please contact the support team at your bank to learn when they’ll update their app.

Sorry, but this is a bank issue, not an Apple issue.
