Why is my iPhone 14 Plus camera not showing Macro mode?

I have an iPhone 14 Plus (iOS 18.5). My camera doesn't focus on anything unless it's at least 8" away. Anything closer and it's blurry. Even if I tap on the image of the object to auto focus on it, it remains blurry. I heard that my iPhone has macro mode but when I watched a video explaining it, the flower icon didn't appear on my screen.

Another post on this forum said I should go to Settings > Camera > Formats and enable Macro Mode. But in the Formats window, there are only two choices: High Efficiency and Most Compatible. No choices for macro mode.

Does my iPhone not have macro mode? Am I doing something incorrectly? Thank you for your help.

The iPhone 14 Plus does not support Macro Photography on iPhone.

It is only supported starting on the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max, and including all later Pro/Pro Max models, plus the entire iPhone 16 lineup.
