Touch bar predictive/suggestion text not working
I've been having issues trying to figure out why the predictive text went away on my touch bar and how to get it back. My touch bar used to suggest words as i was typing but one day stopped. If you're having this issue, i FINALLY found the solution after 2 hours of endlessly looking through my settings. I inserted a picture of my settings at the end, but here's how i fixed it:
1. Go to your touch bar settings
2. Find 'Touch Bar Shows' and toggle it to the option saying "App controls" The touch bar will now show things based on the app you're using.
Ex: You're typing a message in imessage so your touchbar will show you the predictive text and emoji options.
3. Make sure 'Show control strip' is toggled on
4. Go to 'Press and hold fn key to' and choose what you want.
5. Go to touch bar settings and customize the control strip how you want.
SUMMARY: Go to your touch bar settings, find 'Touch Bar Shows' and toggle it to the option saying "App controls", Find 'Show control strip' and make sure it is toggled on, then go customize the control strip.
Predictive text will not work when typing something into the main search bar in safari (like on iphone) or google chrome, but works in the secondary search bar after you've already looked something up.
