Unnotified Extra Tax Charge for iPhone Repair – £78.80 Refund Delayed Over a Month

Hi,

Over a month ago, I sent my iPhone for repair through Apple’s online service. The total quoted cost was £389.00, which clearly stated it included all applicable taxes. However, after the repair was completed, I was charged an additional £78.80 for tax without any prior notification or explanation.

This extra charge was not mentioned in the original repair agreement, invoice, or during any communication about the service. I reached out to Apple Support immediately, and they admitted the mistake, agreeing that I was overcharged and promising a refund.

It’s now been more than a month, and despite repeated follow-ups, I haven’t received my refund. I even provided proof of the duplicate tax charge (screenshots of my receipt and bank statement), yet there’s been no progress.

Given that the charge was clearly an error and acknowledged by Apple, I believe I’m entitled to a full refund of the £78.80. Has anyone experienced something similar? How can I escalate this further to ensure it gets resolved?

Thanks in advance for your advice and support!
