Connecting MAC to iPhone for 4G network when no wifi

Hi - new to MAC so might be a stupid question BUT - I know there is an automatic link to my iPhone (Bluetooth) but, as I cannot pair the two devices in a traditional way, will this work for 4G access when no WIFI available to me using hotspot?

yeah, you can use your iPhone as personal 4G hotspot when there is no wifi available

Please see this link on how to set up your personal hotspot:

You will need to manage your network usage when using the iPhone as a hotspot because even so-called "unlimited" cell phone data plans cap the amount of hotspot data used per month.

About a year ago, I purchased a Netgear Nighthawk M6 Pro (unlocked) for power outages or drops in provider network access. It has a Qualcomm X-65 5G radio in it, a 13-hr battery, and offers 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6/6E) and I have a $10/mo (all fees included) plan providing 30GB. It is pocket-sized, so I can have portable Wi-Fi when I want it.
