How to a remove a payment method with an active subscription linked to Apple Account?

Having iCloud+ counts as a subscription. Click here and downgrade to the free amount, or put a different payment method in first.

Troubleshooting Cancelling Subscriptions:

If you are saying that you want to discontinue a subscription, then go here: See or Cancel your Subscriptions - Apple Support. If you cannot cancel the subscriptions yourself, then contact Apple Support.. Note that you need one Method of Payment assigned to your Apple Account. This is because even free apps have the option to purchase items form within them.
