How can I check the status of an iPhone replacement via AppleCare?

Can anyone from apple let me know where my phone is? Since the first week of November I’ve been waiting for a new phone and still nothing. I can’t call/text on this rental, you finally gave me 2 weeks ago, as your employees “forgot” to give me a “bar code” to access cellular service. I’ve tried asking on here but my questions keep getting deleted? Where’s my new phone at??? Old ones in Texas getting “investigated”… I live in Vancouver BC……..

  1. There is no one from Apple or Apple Support here outside of the forum moderators. This is a user to user technical support forum.
  2. If you want to know about the status of an order you placed with Apple you can follow up through your account at the Apple online store. click here ➜ Viewing & Changing Orders - Shopping Help - Apple
  3. Apple does not offer cellular service as such they cannot provide a bar code (QR code) to access that. That would be up to your service provider, not Apple. Again, you are not addressing Apple Support here, we are only other users like yourself. They aren't our employees.
  4. Why is your old iPhone in Texas? Did you send it in for a trade in? Or what exactly did you do?
  5. Did you buy a new iPhone from Apple? Or did you buy it from your service provider?
  6. If you used Apple's trade-in, you would have gotten the new iPhone before having to send in the old one.

If you explain exactly what you did, someone here, may be able to help you.

So you sent your burnt iPhone for a replacement using a 3rd party insurance company? Or did you do so through Apple's Apple Care+ option?

For Apple Care+ they should have sent you a replacement device if you setup service through Apple's online service website. They send you a box and you send the device to them. They verify it and then send a replacement if it is covered by warranty or you have paid the Apple Care+ incident fee. You can track the service status through the following website: click here ➜ Track the status of an existing repair - Apple Support

If you did this through a 3rd party insurance company, like your home insurance, or other device insurance then Apple is not involved in that at all. You would need to contact them with your claim information to follow up on its status.

Are you sure what you got was a rental / loaner and not your replacement device? To my knowledge Apple does not give out loaners or rentals. They simply replace the damaged device with new or refurbished unit if the claim is accepted.

The store would have given you a replacement in a brown box in most cases,

It should be the same model, color, and storage capacity as the one you submitted.

If it is, then that is your replacement, and you just need to have your service provider set up service on it.

Your repair process is complete at that point. And whatever happens to your other device is no longer relevant.

I have a feeling you are misinterpreting what happened.

The chip is your SIM card which on an iPhone only contains information about your cellular plan. It does not contain photos, music videos and never has.

No offense but something is fishy in your posts. I’m a former Apple Store Manager. I know how stores operate, Genius Bar appointments work and the repair system works. Either you were given a receipt with the repair ticket number or your story is fanciful. Continuing a discussion here serves no purpose and you need to pursue the matter with the store management or Apple Corporate.

So I can take accountability for falling asleep on it while it was plugged in charging. I woke up to it burning and 2/3 of the screen was black. Only being able to touch 1 2 3 when trying to unlock. Thank you for letting me know this is a community and no one from apple support. I cannot contact them do to not having cellular access. Thank you for letting me know I should contact my provider. This rental phone said they should’ve given one as an option. It’s not an order it’s basically a new phone under the insurance as it’s been really damaged all of a sudden. Again I take full responsibility. Why it’s in Texas I have no clue. They contacted me 2 weeks ago saying it’s getting investigated from the sudden “burn up” or “overheating”. It’s not an order. The phone was taken to an Apple Store, they took it, and that was it. I was patient for 3 weeks, went back to check up, and still nothing. So they gave me a rental phone that’s basically an iPod. Without Cellular or wifi it’s useless. That’s also why I’m on here asking these questions because I cannot contact apple by calling so I searched up how to email, found out I couldn’t, so I’m asking the community and assumed maybe an apple employee would see.

Thank you again for reaching out and letting me know that there aren’t any Apple employees here but other users willing to help. I appreciate it as this is my 5/6 time trying to reach out for some help and guidance/advice

I’m with apple care. That’s the insurance I’m talking about when it comes to a replacement. They did not provide me a replacement phone till after 3 weeks, in which I had to go into the Apple Store, and now I’m with a rental iPhone that’s basically an iPod that they provided me with till my new phone. They haven’t contacted me since the last week of November and apple told me that the phone is in Texas getting investigated. I just believed with this apple care I’d get a new phone a lot faster if one was really damaged/broken. Which it is. And still I’m left in the dark.

Wasn’t given anything man. Went in, showed them the damaged phone, they told me they’d “investigate” and I couldn’t get a new phone, waited 3 weeks, went back to check up on it, still was being “investigated”, asked why apple care couldn’t provide me a new phone, they gave me this rental phone, then two weeks ago i was told that it is now in Texas getting investigated by a third person/party. I’m guessing they investigated at the store, a headquarters here in BC, and now down there in the south. I’ve not been given anything man receipt. I only got back my memory card from the old damaged phone
