How to disable Right Shift Key Shortcuts on Mac?

Long ago the 'right shift' key on my MacBook Pro became a short cut for 'show desktop' which is super inconvenient. I have confirmed that if I go to settings/keyboard/keyboard shortcuts/Control Centre then the Show Desktop is indeed assigned to F11 ... but when the 'right shift' is depressed it still triggers Shows Desktop. If someone could help me disable this annoying 'right shift' keyboard assignment I would be most grateful.

Thanks

Thanks Tom for sharing the great article. My problem was that I was looking in the wrong area of settings (keyboard). By going to System Settings > Desktop & Dock > Mission Control > Shortcuts ... for the Show Desktop you are allowed to select F11 (default) or many other options including 'right Shift'. I just toggled the 'right Shift' option on and then off and reset it to F11 and the problem was solved!

Tom you made my day!

Many Thanks

Thank you Leroy. I reviewed the documentation you provided. I confirmed that both the fn-F11 and the 'right Shift' shortcuts show the Desktop. I could not, however, figure out how disable the shortcut for the 'right Shift' key that shows the Desktop. A number of people have also encountered this and I wonder if we all accidentally gave the 'right Shift' key this unwanted super power. At any rate I have not been able to find a solution online.
