How can I convert WMV files to MP4 So I can play them on iPhone 16 and Windows PC

Hi all,

Got my first iPhone 16 but I came across an issue. Please help.

I have dozens of WMV video files on my Windows 10 PC. I can't directly put them to my iPhone 16 as this video format is not supported. I tried to use iTunes to convert the files but it does not support too. How can I bulk convert wmv to mp4 on a Windows PC?

If you know how to do this, please kindly share us the tricks. It could be better to keep the quality and without data loss.

Thank you

About converting WMV video to MP4. Sometimes the conversion can fail because your system lacks the required codecs. I learned this the hard way when I had several files just sitting there with error messages popping up. Ensure you’ve got the necessary codecs installed. Installing a pack like K-Lite Codec Pack can help you cover most bases. It'll save you headaches later!

If you’ve got a ton of WMV files scattered all over your hard drive, it can be a nightmare keeping track of what’s what. Poor organization can lead to duplicating files or, worse, converting the same video multiple times. Before you start, gather all the WMV files you want to convert into one folder. It’ll make your life so much easier!

Converting WMV to MP4 in bulk on a Windows PC can definitely be tempting, especially if you're trying to get your videos ready for playback on an iPhone. But one of the biggest worries with bulk conversions is potentially losing video quality. Depending on the software or command you're using, compressing videos too much can result in a pixelated mess. In my case, I went a little overboard and ended up with videos that looked like they were shot on a potato! Always check the settings to ensure you maintain a good bitrate and resolution.

Batch conversions can take a while, especially if you're dealing with a ton of files. If you're using command-line tools like avconv, it can be straightforward, but if your system isn’t exactly high-end, you might find yourself waiting ages for those conversions to wrap up.
