How to recover missing files after iPhone 18.1 update?

So I updated my iPhone to latest 18.1.1 and like magic, I have lost several important files.

i have plenty of iCloud space and phone space so how does this happen and who on earth fails to beta test these updates.

any clues?

My iPad took an update today and it did not delete my files but it erased all the information on my recent spreadsheets. I save them to my iCloud. Is there any way to get the information back? I saved the spreadsheet to my iCloud drive and then took the update. When the update was finished, I went back into the same spreadsheet and all the information was gone. I need to get it back.

Can I recover folders deleted from Recently Deleted in the Files app? I recently opened my files app to find that one folder was completely missing. In this folder stored videos and photos from a very meaningful event. A few days prior i had done a little clearing up of space and made sure to steer clear. In recently deleted i hit delete all. In hindsight i believe my folder went with it. Currently my recently deleted reads “Recently deleted items may be permanently deleted by your storage provider” Now my question is, i have automatic backup enabled for my iphone, i just checked the settings and it was last backed up yesterday. The deletion took place 5 days ago, if i were to restore a backup would i be able to select a backup from 5 days ago? Would any of this be possible? Or is there a way to have files deleted from recently deleted to be recovered? Sorry if this reads frantic that is what i’m currently feeling, Any advise is much appreciated, Thank you. How do I clear storage to update iOS on my iPad ? How do I dump the trash in my iPad???? I've deleted allot of pictures, mail, messages and turned the notifications for all three off. I've deleted several apps from my iPhone running OS 17.4.1. I've deleted history and made sure my download folder was empty BUT I have not received one byte of new storage.
