I keep getting text that my phone has malware or data breach, can it be fixed without having to pay for an app?

Hello 👋, First you can determine where the message is coming from.

  1. Is the message is coming in as a SMS or iCloud message?

  • If so, you need to determine if it is SMS or iCloud. You can tell if it is a SMS via the message bubble behind the message text being a green background, or the message bubble behind the message text being blue.

  • If the message is an SMS, you can block the number from your phone and also you can report it to your SIM card service provider and request to filter scam text.

  • If the message is an iMessage, you can report this to Apple via support and they can work out who sent you the message and you can also block the sender on your phone.

2. If the message appears on the screen as a little window over the screen you are using, it will be from an app.

  • Can you remember the last app you may have installed when the messages started to appear? Delete app from that point on and see if they stop.
  • Also report this to Apple Support, as they may instruct you to reset your phone.

3 . Is the message arriving as a notification? Notifications in the Apple device will appear in the notification section by sliding down from the top. Notifications created by the device operating system iOS, apps and websites that you have agreed to receive notifications from.

  • Can you remember the last app you may have installed when the messages started to appear. Delete app from that point on and see if they stop.

  • Can you remember which websites you went to and allowed them to use notifications. Check the notifications settings and remove all the websites that are allowed to use notifications. Don't worry about the ones you want to keep, the websites will ask again when you revisit.

I hope this helps you learn and get the issue resolved. 🙂
