Siri in iPhone 13 Pro using 30 GB of my cellular data

Hi, I have never experienced this before, but I found out that Siri used 30 GB of my cellular data (28.7 GB at the time of this post). I normally use at least 20 GB total each month before my cycle ends, but I am, per my plan alert, over 50 GB in usage.

in my last cycle Siri only used less than 100 MB.

could someone please help why this happened?? I have used Siri the same way when I’m using smart scenes automation, looking for my phone, setting an alarm, asking for the time (when hand free and far away).

I have an iPhone 13 Pro iOS 18.1.1

18.2 is next for update but now I am hesitant.

id recommend setting up low data mode on your iPhone as it will use all the delicious data on wifi but on cellular it won't which could work in this case.

here's how to activate low data mode

Settings app > Mobile Data > Tap Cellular Data Options > Low Data Mode.
