What does Image Capture error code -9934 mean?

I'm importing pictures from my iPhone to my Mac. Photos just randomly stops doing it, so I tried using Image Capture. That gives the attached, super unhelpful, error. It lists some pictures, I guess they might be bad in some way, but the "..." at the end leaves me thinking there might be an unlimited number of problems.

What is -9934 trying to tell me?

How do I fix it?

macOS Photos: Unknown Error (3) when exporting as jpeg photos edited using Clean Up on iPhone16 I'm running macOS 15.4 and my iPhone 16 Pro Max is running iOs 18.4. I shoot photos with the iPhone and use the cleanup function, then the edited photos are synchronized with Mac photos and are viewable just fine there. I can export the original to HEIC unmodified, but then the image is not cleaned up! I have not found any workaround so far, very annoying.

Downloading photos from IPhone 12 to iMac (high sierra 10.13.6) ImageCaptureCore error 9937 - this has been well documented error among users trying to transfer pictures from IPhone to iMac. I still can’t find a fix for this so I’m wodering if this was fixed or still an existing problem (at least for me it is). Last fall people said they we’re in touch with Apple and fix was promised but I don’t find references to this anywhere. Could someone help me with this, to know there is no fix would be helpful as well….

The error -9934 is indicating a permission error one importing from a mobile device and you are not allowed to write to the destination folder.

Where is your Photos Library located? Are you keeping your Photos Library on an external drive?
