iPhone 15 or SE 2025

Strange question: I have - still - an iPhone SE 2016. Been using it for emergencies as I have a landline as a primary. this was "primarily" - no pun intended - as my wife preferred the landline - 73 years old did not want to deal with the iPhone. She recently passed and I'd like to get rid of the landline and exclusively use iPhone. SE 2016 will not cut it as primary phone. would I be better served waiting for the 2025 iteration of the SE or going with the iPhone 15? cost of the 16 is almost what I paid for this Mac - too high. WE seniors on fixed income have to be a little thrifty. !% or 2025 Se. Thoughts?
