What specs are needed to use Xcode with the Mac Mini M4

I am looking to purchase the MacMini M4. I do a little programming with Xcode, How much ram and storage would you recommend so it will run smoothly.

Thanks,

Mac mini (M4)

How much storage space is your current Mac or PC using..?

1) The base model with 256GB of storage space, can fill up quickly forcing you to rely on external storage.

2) The base model with 16GB of RAM might be OK, until you start adding App's and upgrade to later macOS versions.

Personally I suggest doing one of the Mid range models with a minimum of 512GB of storage and 24GB of RAM.

A lot depends on the sort of Xcode projects you will be creating.

The other thing, and probably more important, depends on what else you intend to use the MacMini for.

The base MacMini will certainly be able to handle small Xcode projects but you may be doing other things on the Mini that may require more RAM or larger internal storage.

So without the "whole picture" of how you will be using your Mini, it is hard to say what your needs may be.
