converting mp4 to mp3 in iTunes

Continuing old thread about failure to import in mp3 - before purchasing music go to Settings - Files - Import Settings and change to MP3 encoder.

HOWEVER

if you have already imported music in mp4 format you can still convert to mp3

Highlight each song you want to convert and go to File - Convert - Create mp3 Version.

This will create another copy of each song but in Mp3.

If you don't highlight the songs, the 'Convert' option is not available.
