Removing erased iPad from account after replacement

I replaced my lost iPad. should I remove the old one from my account. I already erased the lost one.

Be aware that if you intend to make an insurance claim for the stolen iPad, you may need to prove ownership of the stolen device. Some insurance companies insist that they see proof that the device was associated with your Apple Account prior to settling a claim.


Otherwise, if you have no further interest in the iPad that has been stolen, from your perspective you have no reason to not delete the iPad from your Apple Account. Be mindful that once deleted, you will have no visibility or control over the deleted device.


If the remote erase command indicates that the erase is pending, the iPad has not yet received the erase command. Remote management commands can only be received by the target device if it has an active internet connection.
