Performance Issues with 2013 MacBook Air and Battery Problem

Hello,

I have a 2013 MacBook Air with macOS Big Sur installed. My MacBook has 8GB of RAM, 500GB of storage, and an Intel Core i7 processor. I don't have any heavy applications installed, but the system is running very slowly and is not functioning properly.

Additionally, the battery of my MacBook is damaged, and I have removed it from the device. I am now using it directly through the charger. I am currently running macOS version 11.0.1. Could this issue be related to the system update?

Has anyone experienced similar issues and found a solution?

Thank you for your help!

D. RAM Consumption being the Culprit::

As for the beachball, it is telling you that an application or file or sorts is at work. Likely. this app is consuming lost of RAM. So, view the Activity Monitorseeing what is consuming the most of it, and close whatever it may be. Troubleshooting Mac Charge:

Refer to the following....

A. Reset the SMC and your NVRAM:

(Applies to Intel-Based Macs Only): Sometimes when changes are made to the system(i.e. Updates), system configurations (i.e. for Power) become manipulated, technically. So, reset the SMC and NVRAM. Try performing each thrice. It may take sometime, being certain you have the time to perform these resets.

B. Try a New Charger:

C. A Few Links to Refer to for Power:
