iPhone 16 Pro Camera loading delay and corrupted photo

Does anyone else have issues with their iphone 16 Pro camera? My camera sometimes takes time to load. I open the camera app and it takes around 5 seconds to start working. It is showing black screen for around 5 seconds. My older iphone 13 pro camera app was ready to use almost immediately after opening the app. Then yesterday I took a photo and later I realized the photo was just a black screen. I then tried to zoom in and I realized the photo file was partially corrupted... Attached you can see the photo partially exists but half of it is black screen. The camera otherwise works fine and I take photos without issues, but just this one photo was corrupted, which shows it is a software issue. Does apple intend to fix this with an update? Certainly hope so because I am fed up calling apple to complain about their software bugs and other issues...

Found a fix thanks to some people on Reddit (was really annoying me too);

It’s a bug due to game mode. If you launch every single game you have and turn off game mode on every single one that seems to fix the problem

Hoping for a proper patch cause I do kinda like game mode but this camera issue is way more irritating.

I just got my 16 a couple weeks ago and experiencing this I’m livid… wth???????????? iPhone 11 never did this and much faster it’s screwing up my pics and paid $1250 for this freaken phone

I have zero games on my phone. It’s basically a brand new iPhone 16. I have the same problem with slow camera (5 second blackness).

Absolutely agree!!! Beyond ridiculous. They clearly have the ability to provide us with a WORKING camera app. Wake up Apple. Patience is running low with your products.

The problems continue… now after the latest update to 18.2.1 I see another issue: I open the camera and press the shutter (either on the screen or the camera control button) and the phone waits 3-4 seconds until it finally shoots the picture... It is not acceptable for a phone that expensive to have such a delay !!! Is it a processor lag? Is it a bug? iPhones are becoming more and more useless!

I got this phone in Dec, it delays when you open camera to just black screen about 5-10 seconds and my older 13 pro max is faster.. I spoke to apple support, asked me to turn off background app refresh, reduce motion, I have turned off reduce motion did not make any difference and why must I turn off background app refresh whereas my 13 pro max don’t need to?

There is something absolutely wrong with iPhone 16 models. This is major and apparently no way to fix even with multiple software updates, etc. The camera lags and there is a 5 second or more black screen delay when opening the camera to take a pic. Additionally the camera lags 5 seconds or more when actually taking a picture. Due to this picture can result in blurred corrupted images. Completely unacceptable for Apple premium phones. We are all now stuck with these expensive subpar phones. Was just visiting Panama and was introduced to Huawei phones and they are absolutely incredible. Camera and images are unmatched to the subpar iPhone. What has happened to Apple and its innovation? We pay a premium for these phones and should expect the best! And apple support had me try all these things which did absolutely nothing. And I have basically a bare bones phone meaning zero gaming apps and extremely limited external apps overall.
