Old APPLE ID email signed into Find My? Thread Cont.

Just saw the thread with the above title. I had the same problem, but if your old Mac is still showing up on your new email's find my -- go to iCloud via the web browser and then go to find my and you'll be able to erase it from there.

MacBook erase blocked by old Apple ID in Find My I’ve been using my Apple ID abc@email.com on both my iPhone and MacBook for a long time without any issues. Both devices appear normally in Find My under abc@email.com. Recently, I tried to reset/erase my MacBook. During the reset process, it asked me to enter the password of an old Apple ID xyz@email.com in order to turn off Find My and continue. The problem is: I don’t remember the password of xyz@email.com. It was a Gmail address that I deleted years ago, so I no longer have access to the inbox. I tried to reset the password at iforgot.apple.com for xyz@email.com, but Apple says: “This Apple Account is not valid or not supported.” Then I tried creating a new Apple ID using xyz@email.com. I expected Apple to say the email already exists, but it didn’t. It allowed me to proceed to the verification step and sent a code to that email address. Since the Gmail account has been deleted, I can’t access that code. So in simple terms, I’m stuck with an old, abandoned email address xyz@email.com still tied to my MacBook for Find My, and I can’t reset the Mac because of it. What is the correct way to resolve this?

old password/email required to sign out of 'find my' Hey, I am trying to reset my old macbook air (2020) so i can give it to my mum. In the process i have successfully entered my apple ID password. It then asked for a password to log out of "find my" - however this is a really old email address, probably the one i used when i first set up my apple account years ago. I have since migrated to my new email address (which is what i usually use to log into apple). But, it wants my password for this old email address. it wont accept the current email address I have and use. and I do not rember the old password. i have tried to recover this password but apple declined, due to not being able to provide enough info about that account. I'm not sure what to do at this stage. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Apple ID-associated email didn't update within Find My (Ventura 13.6 Apple M1 Max 16-inch 2021 MacBook Pro) I have an Apple M1 Max 16-inch 2021 MacBook Pro running Ventura. I had to change the email address associated with my Apple ID after I got the computer up and running. But now, I want to erase all content, and Find My still thinks I'm using the original email address associated with my Apple ID, which I no longer have access to, and so I can't sign out of Find My. I tried some command line options (nvram -d ...) but those didn't work.

Thank you! this was happening when i was trying to factory reset my old mac mini 2018, i went onto my new mac mini that i purchased and to find my and selected erase. this factory reset my old mac just like that, no need to enter my nonexistant email password!
