Saw an old post that recommended turning off Optimized Charging, did so; phone continued to charge to 86% before I took it off charger. I use the phone sporadically, so I doubt the Optimize algorithm will best preserve battery life since it charges to !00% every time I leave it unattended.

Only the iPhone 15 models and later have the charge limit feature. By the way, the best thing you can do is charge your iPhone overnight with Optimized Charging on, which improves your battery lifespan and reduces the amount of time fully charged.
