We see people on this forum every day of the week who were scammed. There is a LOT of risk in buying a used iPhone from someone. If you can't return the phone for refund, you'll have to pay it off or chalk it up to a total loss and just go buy a new iPhone.

Personally I wouldn't do it, you will be paying for the new phone as well as paying off your old phone.
