Required Face ID for private browsing

I have turned on require Face ID for private browser in safari setting and it still doesn’t work. Private browser still just opens without Face ID requirement. I have newest ios 18.2 update and a 16 pro max. Can anyone know why Face ID turn on for private browser? Workers on all other apps.

This will work only after you Lock your device and unlock it with Face ID/Touch ID.

Now, ask someone else to open Private Browsing in Safari or turn your iPhone away from your face, it won't open.

See the pic below.

For additional privacy, you can choose to lock Private Browsing when you’re not using it. When you lock your device, your private tabs in Safari will also lock. Then, when you unlock your device again, just unlock Private Browsing with Touch ID, Face ID or your device passcode.
