Naming new notes in iOS 18

Like muguy mentioned, the first line becomes your note title. The problem if you have a lot of notes (like I do) is to keep the folders organized. What I started to do is number the notes in order of personal priority inside each folder. It's not perfect, but it helps.

For example in my "Photography" folder these are simply the first three of many notes:

1) List of gear for insurance company

2) My tips for teaching night sky photography

3) My tips for teaching infrared photography

You can also number your folders that way as well to keep those in any preferred order.

Yes, exactly that. Type in the name you want, then hit “enter” and then you can do your pasting.

For an existing note, you can edit the title the same way… put your cursor at the very top, before anything else already in the note, type in the name, then hit enter.

Whatever you first type on the first line becomes the name of your note
