Home notification badges won’t clear

Both my iPhone and iPad, latest OS -

I have an Eve contact sensor to send a notification using Home, when a door opens or closes. The badge notification does not clear even after I’ve deleted the notification’s. I’ve tried all the usual, undoing complete shut down and restart. If I shut notification off completely in the device settings the badge on the Home icon disappears, but when I enable notifications again it reappears, with the same number.

Also, I created a room within Home and that sensor is in that room, but I can’t get the room to show up on the Home homepage.
