SuperDrive won't accept discs on iMac M3
When I connect my superdrive to my iMac using a Belkin Multiport adaptor it does not accept any disc. It seems that there is no power on the superdrive.

The Apple SuperDrive doesn't like to be connected through a hub or dock. Connect it directly to the Mac. Use a USB-A to USB-C plug adapter if necessary.

Hi,
I suppose Belkin Multiport adaptor is bus powered device. You need to get self powered USB-C to USB-A hub or adapter.
Thanks guys I bought a cheap adaptor and now it works ok.
I got my superdrive in 2014, connected it to my new iMac M3 purchased in March 2024, using a USB A to C adapter from Apple, and it works just fine.
Thanks will do
