Why does Apple take so long to reset password?

My daughter had a new iphone for christmas, but, because the password reset didnt work (looped) you have to wait for days (and still waiting) for Apple to do a two minute job and reset the account! With all the bragging of AI they cant have a simple function for reset that works.

Complain to Apple about this. Nobody responding here works for Apple and the ones from Apple who simply read this forum do it primarily for moderation purposes.

Apple does say you have to wait but does not say why. Clearly the easiest way to avoid waiting is to never forget your password. ;-)

From: How to use account recovery when you can’t reset your Apple Account password - Apple Support

"In some cases, you might be able to speed up the account recovery process or reset your password immediately by verifying a six-digit code sent to your primary email address. You might also be able to shorten the wait time by providing credit-card details to confirm your identity. If you’re given this option, an authorization request goes to the card issuer." - see the document for more details.

I am sure all the hackers would also love for there to be a simple way for them to reset your password.
