How do I reset my duaghter's Apple Account password after losing iPhone?

My daughter recently lost her phone and we flagged it as so. She now needs to get back into various things but can’t remember her apple password. After a lot of faff, I managed to put the request through for her and she received an email saying we’d get an update 2 days ago. We haven’t had this and I have no idea how we take it forward - there appears to be no way of contacting Apple. Any ideas please?

When using Account Recovery, after your request you should receive an email within 72 hours. In that email, it will detail how much longer you will need to wait before receiving a text or automated call for further instructions. If you don't receive this call after the waiting period in the email, then it is advised to check the recover link seen in the Support Article here:

If you don’t receive the text or call, once the period specified in the original email is over, you can still go directly to apple.com/recover. Follow the instructions to regain access to your Apple Account.
