Unexpected iCloud 50GB storage charge

I’m being charged for my iCloud storage but Ive been using the free version of the storage but I’m being charged for the 50GB which I am not understanding

An iCloud user is never automatically upgraded to a paid level without that user’s authorization. Does not happen.


So you either voluntarily upgraded or responded to a message saying you were out of storage and responded in the positive when asked if you wanted more storage.


Other than that perhaps someone else with access to your account did so. Again, a user never just gets upgraded without authorization, period. It would be illegal and unethical for Apple to do so.
