Unable to change Facebook password in iPad's Passwords app

Hoping someone can help!

I have had a problem with a scam on Facebook Marketplace and to be safe I changed my password, I then wanted to change the Facebook password stored in the password app on my iPad however I cannot as every time I go to change password it sends a code on what’s app…I do not do what’s app…so cannot see the code ….just want to change my password…very exasperated….hoping somebody can advise?

Thanks….don’t know how WhatsApp would ever be in the settings as I have never had it!

When I changed the password on Facebook there was no prompt to save it to password app but I just logged out and went back in and a prompt to save came up so it has now saved the password…..thanks so much for all your help!

Wondering where the what’s app / authentication code / is set up ... Apple's codes originate from what is set up in the user's Apple Account or can often be displayed directly on a trusted device ... I don't know about faceBook ...

If you have changed the password already on faceBook, when you log-in to faceBook using the new password, you may get the option to save the new password, and so update it on your password list that way.

Wondering which app you store passwords in ... (ie: Apple's or a Third-Party (non-Apple app ?)

Change weak or compromised passwords on iPad - Apple Support and that may help you.

Thank you for your reply.

It is the Apple password app, I know how to change the password however every time I try to do it a screen comes up in front of the ‘change password’ screen which says it will send a code to what’s app which I have to enter…..I don’t have What’s App …so I am unable to type in the password… just wondered if anyone could help.
