Reoccurring Pair Your Remote notification

Today I am getting reoccurring Pair Your Remote notifications on my 4K Apple TV. I have followed the directions from the march post (Pairing remote intermittent pop up - Apple Community) with no improvement. It has been working perfectly in its current location since December 2023.

The remote works. It’s just the annoying notification. There are no other devices with remote access to this Apple TV.

I have taken out the power. Tried to unpair then pair the remote but it won’t unpair with the given directions on this site.

Apple TV specs:

tvOS 18.2

Model A2737 (64gb)

Remote spec:

Firmware Version 0x33

Battery 79%

The only other thing I could try would be a factory reset and reconnect to my apps etc.

Any other advice before I try that?

Update.

I managed to disconnect the remote by holding down Home and Volume Down for several seconds with the remote close to the TV box.

Reconnected by holding Home and Volume Up. The notification hasn’t appeared since. Cross fingers it stays that way.
